Peacock Feather Pose

Pincha Mayurasana in Sanskrit and is an advanced exercise designed to test strength, stability and structural integrity and master the aspect of Shiram and Sukham (stability and calmness). The pose gets its name from the Sanskrit words: 'Pincha', meaning 'feathered', 'Mayur', meaning 'peacock', and 'Asana', meaning 'pose'. In the last pose, the body shows strength and beauty, similar to the peacock raising its tail to show off its colorful plumage. Hence the name Pincha Mayurasana or Feathered Peacock Pose.

Being a balancing pose, it requires utmost focus and concentration on the body drishti (gaze) and breath. The level of confidence is improved, and mind control practiced.
