Equeastrian Pose
Ashwa Sanchalanasana in Sanskrit. Known as Equestrian Pose, is a low lunge and falls into the category of balance poses. The Sanskrit name Ashwa Sanchalanasana is derived from three words. 'Ashwa' means 'horse', 'Sanchalana' means 'movement' and 'Asana' means 'posture'.
Practicing this asana stimulates the abdominal organs such as the stomach, kidneys and liver and effectively stimulates the genitourinary system through the hip opening. Ashwa Sanchalanasana strengthens the legs and lengthens the spine. The balancing effect combined with the physical endurance and strength required to hold the pose creates confidence and stability in a person.
